Swiss Alps & Mountain Passes Tour Description

Sunday

Arriving in Reims under your own steam, you will be welcomed to the Hotel de La Paix with a glass of Champagne by the Tour Director. The hotel is located in the centre of Reims and has secure underground parking for your car. It also benefits from being close to all the bars & restaurants in the pedestrian precinct and is nearby the medieval Cathedral.

You can check into your bedroom from 15.30 and relax after your journey.

Our "welcome" dinner takes place this evening in the hotel where you will have the opportunity to meet all your fellow tour participants.

Monday

Following breakfast, we depart Reims on route to Lake Lucerne, with a lunch stop planned in Alsace before we arrive at the stunning Burgenstock Hotel & Resort which will be our base for the next two evenings. After checking in, we will enjoy a fine dinner in the hotel restaurant this evening.

Tuesday

This morning, we have a private tutored chocolatier experience booked which will take place within the hotel. You will have the opportunity to make your own chocolate creations.

Following lunch, you have a free afternoon to chill out and enjoy the hotels facilities, or perhaps visit Lucerne, or take a boat trip on the lake.

We take dinner in the hotel restaurant this evening.

Wednesday

Following breakfast, we depart the Burgenstock Hotel & Resort and head to St Moritz.

Today is an epic day of driving and takes in the Bernina Pass, Livigno, Bormio, Stelvio Pass, Umbrail Pass, Fluela Pass and we will enjoy a lovely picnic lunch in the mountains.

Following the afternoon drive, we then arrive in St Moritz for an overnight stay at the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, where we will enjoy a fine dinner this evening.

Thursday

Following breakfast, we leave St Moritz and head over the mighty St Gotthard Pass on route to Bellinzona. Today also takes in the San Bernadino Pass, and Splugen Pass as we head towards Andermatt and our base for the next three evenings, the outstanding The Chedi Hotel, where we will have dinner in the hotel restaurant this evening.

Friday

Today we head to the stunning town of Zermatt, situated below the majestic Matterhorn.

The drive to/from Zermatt takes us over the epic Furkapass, before we arrive at Tasch, where we take the short train journey to Zermatt. We then take the cog railway to Gornergrat for lunch overlooking the Matterhorn.

Following lunch, we then retrace the route back to Andermatt.

This evening is a free evening for you to take dinner in the hotel, or a local restaurant of your choice.

Saturday

Today starts with morning driving which takes in "The Holy Trinity" of Swiss mountain passes, Sustenpass, Grimselpass and the epic Furkapass, and we will enjoy a lovely picnic lunch on route.

In addition, we also stop at the Gelmerbahn Funicular for a spectacular ride on Switzerland's steepest railway!

In the afternoon we return to The Chedi Hotel to chill out, or enjoy all the spa & wellbeing facilities on offer.

Pre-dinner drinks are followed by our final evening "Gala Dinner" which takes place this evening in the Wine Library.

Sunday

After enjoying a final indulgent breakfast, it’s time to say farewell to your fellow tour companions and set out on the journey home.
